Football, Wasps, and Fire

This weekend was full of adventures! Friday night we went to the Auburn High football game. A few of Blake's students play and we enjoy going watching them while visiting with friends. After the game Bob and LC met us at the house to stay for the weekend. We had such a great time hanging out with them. As they were getting ready to head to campus on Sat. we walked outside just in time to see the transformer across the street pop! It looked like fireworks and liquid started leaking out. Within seconds a fire started at the bottom power pole. Blake hurried to get the hose while calling 911...very scary! Here is a picture of the firemen and police man who hung out in our yard for a good hour monitoring the situation, a.k.a. standing there and talking! I didn't get a picture of the fire because we were busy putting it out!

Blake and I headed to campus early Saturday afternoon to tailgate with his family. We love football season, the smell of grills, cheering, and visiting with friends!

Another crazy adventure from our weekend contained killing wasps. On Thursday evening Blake was trimming a bush when all of a sudden about a dozen wasps swarmed out! Blake ran, I ran, and we were both scared to go back to the bush! Blake decided to get some spray and see if he could put them to rest! Here is a picture of him running away after spraying the bush! We haven't seen them since!

I hope you all are having a relaxing Labor Day weekend! War Eagle!
