This weekend my dad will turn 60 years old! I still can't believe it because he doesn't seem 60 at all! My dad is one of the most amazing men I have ever known. He has overcome so much adversity in his life and yet has succeeded in everything he has put his hand in. My dad has worked for everything in his life and that is one of the greatest things I admire about him most. He instilled this work ethic in my brothers and me which has helped us be who we are today.
This is a picture of my dad, his mom, and his sister. My dad's father passed away when my dad was 5 and my dad's brother passed away right after my mom and dad got married. His Mama is his life! They talk every morning just to check in with each other.
This is how we often find my dad! Resting his eyes in the quiet part of the house. In this case, it was outside on the porch!

My dad loves to play golf! He tries to play every Sat. and Sun. if the weather allows. He shot a hole in one once and he will never let you forget it! My dad also has a STRONG love for ice-cream! There are always several flavors in the house to choose from but there is also the option of Brusters or Dairy Queen as well. My dad is extremely thrifty so a coupon or deal is always in the picture. For those of you that don't know, if you take your own banana to Brusters on Thursday night, the banana splits are half-off! If you can't find my dad on Thursday night, just check downtown at Brusters!
Thanks for listening to me ramble about my dad! Happy 60th Birthday Dad!
